Who publishes this site
GlazingPost is published by Yevhenii Kuznietsov, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is not owned by a media group, an association or a manufacturer. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Yevhenii Kuznietsov also co-founded Installix Windows & Doors, a commercial glazing contractor working in the industry this publication covers. That is a real conflict of interest, and what is done about it is set out in full on the ownership and funding page.
What the content is, and what it is not
Articles here are produced with AI assistance and published with no person reading them before publication. A language model drafts each article from a source document that has been fetched and read first, and an automated check looks for the draft's quotes and figures in that source. That check has stated limits and it is not a proofread. How the whole process works and exactly what the check does and does not catch is on the editorial policy page.
The practical consequence is this: errors on this site are found after publication, by readers, rather than before it, by an editor. We try hard to be accurate and we correct what we get wrong, but we do not warrant that everything here is accurate, complete or current, and you should not treat it as though it were.
Nothing on this site is professional advice. Coverage of building codes, standards, product performance and regulation is journalism about those subjects, not a substitute for them. Codes and standards differ by province and are amended. Before you act on anything you read here, check the governing document itself and take advice from a qualified engineer, architect, inspector or lawyer. We are not liable for what you decide to do.
Editorial standards and corrections
We report from primary sources, name them in the article and link them so you can go and check. We do not publish quotes we have not seen in a source document. The full standards are on the editorial policy page.
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Email editor@glazingpost.ca with the article and the specific claim you are disputing. A substantive factual correction is made in the article, carries a note saying what changed and when, and is added to the public corrections log. Rows on that log are never removed and articles are not quietly deleted to settle a complaint. You do not need a lawyer to ask for a correction, and there is no charge for one.
Advertising and sponsored content
GlazingPost carries no advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid placements. It sells no directory listings, no links and no coverage, and has no subscription. It has never taken money from anyone. Its costs are paid by its owner. There is no advertising network on this site and therefore no advertising cookie and no retargeting.
That is the current state and not a promise about the future. If the site ever carries advertising or accepts sponsorship, any paid item will be labelled as such where you see it, links inside it will carry rel="sponsored", and the ownership and funding page will say so before the money arrives rather than after. Paid placement will never buy editorial coverage or a better position in the directory.
The company directory
The directory is a public record of Canadian glazing companies. It was compiled from public business directories, not from submissions, so a company can be listed without having asked to be. Listings are free, have never been sold, and a listing has no bearing on whether a company is written about.
A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation, a verification of licensing or insurance, or a check of anyone's work. We do not inspect these companies. Satisfy yourself about credentials, insurance and references before hiring anyone.
To correct or remove a listing: email listings@glazingpost.ca naming the company and saying what is wrong, or that you want it taken down. We will correct it or remove it. There is no charge either way, we will not ask you to buy anything first, and removing a listing does not affect how the company is covered editorially.
Using our content
The articles, cover images, glossary and page designs on this site belong to GlazingPost unless credited otherwise. Quotations, excerpts and links are welcome: quote a reasonable extract, say it came from GlazingPost, and link to the article you took it from.
Republishing a whole article, or enough of one to stand in for it, needs our permission first. Ask at editor@glazingpost.ca.
Material quoted from other publications, standards bodies and companies remains theirs, and our permission does not extend to it.
Links to other sites
Articles link to their sources and to other industry sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them or what they do with your data. We do not sell links and we do not accept payment to link to anyone. Any link to a company the owner has an interest in carries rel="nofollow" and is disclosed; the publishing system refuses to publish an article carrying an unqualified one.
The newsletter
Subscribing is free and you can ask to be removed at any time. What happens to your address is set out in the privacy policy, which also explains that no digest has been sent yet because there is no mailing system in place.
Fair use of the site
Please do not attempt to break into the site or its database, scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people, submit someone else's email address to the newsletter, or present this site's content as your own. Nothing here restricts search engines, news aggregators or AI research crawlers, all of which are explicitly welcome in our robots.txt.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the updated terms.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply in it. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.
Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under Ontario or Canadian consumer protection or privacy law, including your rights under PIPEDA. Where a term here conflicts with one of those rights, the law wins and the rest of these terms still stand.
